1. Techno economic feasibility study

Techno economic feasibility study completed.

2. Government approval

Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India has given its in-principle-approval for the project.

3. Land

An extent of 722 acres has been acquired for Kannur International Airport project as on 10 February 2010, out of 1284 acres notified. 

4(1) Notification for additional land of 783 acres has been published. Three Land Acquisition units are on the job.

4. Appointment of consultants

The final proposal for selection of technical, financial and legal consultants for assisting Government in the selection of joint venture partner(s) was submitted to the Government on 18 April 2009 for approval.

5. Formation of Special Purpose Vehicle

A Company fully owned by the Government of Kerala called "Kannur International Airport Limited" has been formed. The first Board meeting of the Company was held on 18 December 2009.

6. Access to airport and other outside infrastructure

District Level Committee under the Chairmanship of the District Collector is giving final shape to the proposal for infrastructure development programmes outside the airport like roads, power and water.
